Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has claimed that Iyorchia Ayu, the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, worked for the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the president-elect.
Umahi made the claim on Monday during the commissioning of remodelled community secondary school, Okoro nu Odo, in Rivers State.
He was in Rivers on the invitation of Governor Nyesom Wike for the project commissioning in the state.

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed the belief that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s father might not be a Yoruba man.

Fani-Kayode said Obasanjo’s ‘silence’ over a recent comment by Igbo businessman Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu that Yoruba people are “political rascals,” was an indication that the former president’s father was an Igbo man, not Yoruba.
Iwuanyanwu said Igbo people had invested so much in Nigeria and were not going to yield to the pressure of people asking them to leave.
Okowa, George mourn ex-CGS, Oladipo Diya

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday, commiserated with Ogun State Government, former Chief of General Staff, Lt.-Gen. Oladipo Diya’s family in Odogbolu and people of the state on the passing of the former CGS.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, Okowa also condoled with Odogbolu community, saying that the news of Diya’s death was saddening, especially as the nation is currently in dire need of the wise counsel of well-meaning Nigerians, including the deceased.
He, however, said that the memories of the departed General would remain immortal, and urged Nigerians and Yoruba race in particular, to remember him for his illustrious contributions to unity of Nigeria and sanctity of its sovereignty.

BENIN CITY – THE Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu has commiserated with the Diya family of Odogbolu, Ogun State over the demise of their son and former Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lt. General Oladipo Diya who passed on in the early hours of Sunday, March 26 at the age of 78.
He was CGS under the late Abacha-led military regime, between 1994-1997.
A condolence message personally signed by him, Shaibu also shared his detention experience with Diya in Jos when they were both guests of the State Security Services (SSS) though for different reasons.
According to him, “Let me place on record that General Diya belonged to the respected club of the nation’s retired top military brass who served assiduously in defence and protection of the territorial integrity of our dear country.
