According to a report by DAILY POST, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has issued a strong statement calling on Nigerians to stand united against the recent resurgence of terrorist attacks in the country, particularly the recent suicide bombings in Gwoza, Borno State, in northeast Nigeria.

In a statement signed by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN expressed deep concern over the latest wave of suicide attacks, which have claimed numerous lives and injured many others.

"We are concerned about the resurgence of suicide bombing in our country and the threat it poses to the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians," the association said.

"This senseless act of violence is a stark reminder of the evil that terrorism represents, and the need for collective action to defeat it."

CAN commended the security agents who have been working tirelessly to contain the threat of terrorism, urging them not to relent in their efforts.

The association emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant, as the situation could escalate and affect not only innocent lives but also places of worship and other large gatherings.

CAN called on the government to intensify efforts to ensure the security and safety of all citizens, particularly in vulnerable regions.

The association also urged religious leaders and Nigerians to unite against terrorism and violence, promoting peace, love, and harmony.

"We pray for divine comfort and intervention in this difficult time," the statement said.

"May God grant the families of the victims the fortitude to bear their loss, and may we all remain united in our quest for peace and security."

CAN reiterated its commitment to supporting the efforts of Nigeria's security agents and working together with all Nigerians to build a safer and more peaceful nation, standing in solidarity with those affected by the scourge of terrorism.
