'I was 16 when I got pregnant, first came the shame, regret and then neglect' - Folasade Adeleke

Folasade Adeleke, cousin to the popular afrobeats singer and songwriter David Adeleke, recently appeared on the "Say What You Know" podcast and shared several personal insights.


During the podcast, Folasade revealed that she is currently 31 years old and has been a mother for 15 years, having become pregnant at the age of 16. She emphasized that nobody can shame her because she knows who she is and always views her experiences as a testimony. She described her journey through fear, shame, regret, and neglect, mentioning that it was the darkest time in her life but affirming that God was with her throughout.

The "Say What You Know" podcast shared the video on their official Instagram page, which sparked a significant response from the public.

She remarked, "I'm 31 years old, I have been a mother for 15 years. I was 16 years old when I got pregnant, I understand that nobody can shame me if I know who I am, I always tell people, whatever i go through is my testimony. First came fear, then came shame, regret then neglect, sorry I will probably cry. That was my darkest time in my life, through the whole thing God was with me."
