I had a discussion with Atiku before I decided to leave PDP and he said I should hold on-Ihedioha
The party's nominee for president in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, was spoken to by Emeka Ihedioha, the former governor of Imo State, before he sent a letter to the PDP announcing his desire to leave the party. He should stay at the party for a while longer, Abubakar suggested.
This revelation was made by Emeka Ihedioha in an Arise Television interview with a journalist. In the interview, Emeka Ihedioha stated, "I spoke with Atiku Abubakar before sending in my letter, and he thought I should stay, but it was crucial that I depart at the time that I did."
I wouldn't say that he encouraged me to leave the party, but he did suggest that I stay so that we could have a conversation. I had the honour of attending the national caucus conference, where I gave my speech and decided that I could no longer fool myself.
