According to Daily Post, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the Edo State APC, has urged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest and prosecute Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, for allegedly forging his voter’s card. In a letter dated July 3rd, Tenebe, speaking as a concerned citizen, accused Ighodalo of presenting falsified documents to INEC and the public.

Tenebe's petition stated, "Asuerinme Ighodalo presented a voter’s card with VIN no. 90FS B195 4629 6818 630, purportedly issued by INEC at Unit 3, Idiror-Idirior Primary School, Ewohinmi Ward 1, Esan South East LGA, Edo State. However, investigations show no such registration exists in INEC's records."

He emphasized the voter register from INEC confirms Ighodalo isn't registered in that unit. Tenebe alleged the voter card Ighodalo presented was forged.

Responding, Rev Olu Martins of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council labeled the case sub judice due to ongoing legal action involving another aspirant. He dismissed Tenebe's claims as headline-seeking and insisted only INEC can verify forgery allegations.

Martins criticized Tenebe's credibility, referencing past accusations against Philip Shaibu. He claimed Tenebe's actions aim to distract from issues with the APC's gubernatorial candidate.
