Former PDP candidate for governor of Rivers State, Sowunmi Segun, has offered her thoughts on the difficulties the party has had as a result of former Governor Nyesom Wike's activities.
In an interview with AIT, Segun stated that the PDP has been struggling with the "Wike problem" for a considerable amount of time.
He said that the Wike issue plagued the party at several points in time, including as the presidential primary, vice presidential candidate selection, and the campaign trail. He said that even with another PDP governor in place in Rivers State, the party is still grappling with the Wike issue.
He voiced his displeasure with Wike's conduct and lightheartedly proposed that the PDP hand itself over to Wike because of the ongoing threats to the party's unity and stability that his activities provide.
According to Segun, "We have PDP Governor in Rivers, we are struggling with Wike problem; maybe we should surrender to him."
