In a recent exchange that has sparked controversy, Senator Ireti Kingibe faced harsh criticism from Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. The criticism led to a reaction from ex-presidential candidate Dele Momodu, who took to social media to express his disapproval.

Minister Wike accused Senator Kingibe of neglecting crucial issues affecting the people of Abuja, such as the construction of schools, healthcare facilities, provision of water, and ensuring security. In a particularly harsh retort, Wike suggested that Kingibe should "go and hug a transformer" if she was displeased with his actions in Abuja.

Dele Momodu responded to Wike's remarks via his Instagram account, condemning the comments and criticizing the National Assembly for not intervening. Momodu highlighted the disrespect shown when a 56-year-old man insulted a 70-year-old senator on national television.

"Power intoxication (with a pun intended)..." Momodu wrote. "On national television, a 56-year-old man insulted a 70-year-old senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, advising her to hug a transformer and die. The National Assembly has done nothing to call this man's bluff, thinking that Nigeria now has two presidents... Our democratic institutions are thoroughly embarrassed by this!"
