Samuel Ogeh, a legal expert, has stated that Oko-Jumbo and his colleagues who were suspended by the Rivers State House of Assembly remain suspended, despite the ongoing political and legal battles.

In an interview with Channels Television, Ogeh clarified that the law and the House of Assembly recognize Martin Amaewhule as the Speaker, notwithstanding the lower court's ruling, which he noted was made out of jurisdiction. He emphasized that there is no contention about the speakership, and Amaewhule's position remains unchanged.

In his words;

"As far as I'm concerned, as far as the law is concerned, as far as Rivers House of Assembly is concerned, Oko-Jumbo and his colleagues who were suspended by the House of Assembly remains suspended. There's no contention about who the speaker is, the Court says Martin Amaewhule is the Speaker, notwithstanding what the lower court said, even though it was said out of jurisdiction"
