Seven Rescued, Including One-Year-Old Baby, After Building Collapse in Lagos

A two-story building collapse in the Mushin area of Lagos State resulted in the rescue of seven occupants, including a one-year-old baby girl, following heavy rainfall on Wednesday. The rescued victims were rushed to a hospital for treatment. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 10 am during the early morning downpour.


Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Police, and others, are on the scene to rescue victims and maintain peace and order. The building, located at number 12 Cameroun Street, off Ewenla, Mushin, collapsed during the heavy downpour, trapping occupants inside.


The rescue efforts are ongoing, with emergency responders working to ensure the safety of those affected. The incident highlights the importance of building safety and the need for regular inspections to prevent such collapses.
