EFCC Posts Message Amid Yahaya Bello's Disappearance

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday posted a cryptic message on X which appears to be directed at Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi.

The EFCC is seeking to arraign Bello on 19 counts bordering on alleged money laundering, breach of trust and misappropriation of funds to the tune of N80.2 billion.

On April 18, the anti-graft agency declared the former governor wanted over alleged financial crimes.

Tinubu Warns Lithium Investors

President Bola Tinubu has advised lithium investors to prioritise environmental protection and community engagement, warning them not to leave the host community in ruins in their exploration activities.

Receiving a delegation from Avatar New Energy Materials Company Limited and Canmax Technologies led by Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule, Tinubu commended the inauguration of Nigeria’s largest lithium processing plant in Lafia, Nasarawa State. 

According to a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Sule was accompanied on the visit to the President by Mr. Hi Yongwei, Chairman of Avatar New Energy Materials Company Limited, and Mr. Zhenhua Pei, Chairman, Canmax Technologies.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Olatunji Disu, has clarified the presence of police officers at the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt.

Addressing speculations circulating about police presence at the Assembly Quarters, Disu emphasized that the police are solely there to prevent any potential breach of law and order. There have been claims of takeover of the House of Assembly quarters by the police in some quarters following the presence of the officers.
