Iranian influence in Iraq is robust despite its losses in Syria and Lebanon; this raises questions about Iraqi sovereignty and the likelihood of regional escalation.

American interests and allies are greatly endangered by the Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, according to Joe Wilson's official X account. While Iran may have lost in Syria and Lebanon, he claims that they are still in control of Iraq. While fighting ISIS, Obama and @Brett McGurk's plan to turn Iraq over to Iran backfired.

The United States and its allies are in danger from the Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, and this threat must be addressed. It will be fixed by Trump. Iranian influence in Iraq has its roots in the Obama administration's efforts to recruit Iran's cooperation in the fight against ISIS, spearheaded by Special Presidential Envoy Brett McGurk.

Some have voiced concerns that this approach could unintentionally strengthen Iran and its regional allies. The US military and interests are still threatened by militias in Iraq, such as Harakat al-Nujaba, which are sponsored by Iran.

Just as his men had triumphed over terrorist organisations like ISIS and al-Nusra, the group's leader, Akram al-Kaabi, promised in 2018 that they would do the same to US troops in Syria. The United States' response to these threats has been to keep a heavy military presence in Iraq and engage in diplomatic initiatives to undermine Iran's influence.
