Joseph Nwani, a public affairs expert, voiced his apprehension over the formation of new states in the southeast region of Nigeria, as reported in the Vanguard. He made the bold claim that the Igbo people of Nigeria are well-known for their resilience, hard work, and innovative mindset. The Igbo are legendary for their unmatched perseverance and remarkable capacity to triumph despite adversity. According to him, "As a proud community, they possess a level of self-confidence that is both admirable and enviable among other Nigerian ethnic groups."

"No one from the Ndokwa or Ukwuani regions should be discouraged from associating with this distinguished group because of this pride and confidence," he continues. With people this strong and capable, there's no need to be wary about joining with them. Some people may be anxious because they are afraid of what the future holds. It can be quite a challenge for those who are used to a certain routine to adjust to unfamiliar settings.

Some in the Anioma community may feel uneasy about the idea of uniting with the South-East, since they have a history of looking westward. Nevertheless, such unease stems from a lack of maturity in one's outlook. Someone in the Anioma community needs to grow up and stop thinking this way, he proclaimed. With the establishment of an Anioma State in the Southeast comes the prospect of exciting new possibilities that will be good for everyone.

To bring Anioma State to fruition, he urged all patriotic Aniomas to unite behind Senator Nwoko. The region's mutual prosperity will be enhanced when new opportunities are unlocked through embracing this shift.
