Prof. Chidi Osuagwu, a former Imo State chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, voiced his concerns about the ineffective leadership within the South-East Governors' Forum. He noted that this leadership vacuum has prevented the necessary collaboration needed to address the security issues affecting the Igbo community.

Osuagwu urged the governors to put aside their egos and unite behind any one of them who can offer viable solutions for the betterment of the Igbo Nation as a whole. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the common good over individual ambitions and working together to develop effective strategies to combat insecurity in the region.

By advocating for unity and cooperation among the South-East governors, Osuagwu underscored the crucial role of cohesive leadership in addressing the pressing challenges facing the Igbo people. He suggested that by supporting each other's initiatives, the governors could more effectively serve their constituents and enhance the well-being of the Igbo community.

According to Vanguard, Osuagwu said, “The South-East Governors’ Forum has lacked effective leadership for a while now. This has cost necessary synergy for effective solutions to the insecurity plaguing Igbo land. The governors should muffle their egos and rally around anyone among them with solutions to offer for the good of the great Igbo Nation."
