In his analysis of the topic of budget padding in Nigerian politics, Ahmed Musa Rufai, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a legal practitioner located in Lagos, provided his point of view.

He expressed his scepticism that the situation would be quickly handled without substantial ramifications, and he made reference to Senator Abdul Ningi's disclosure regarding the padding of the budget.

Rufai brought up the possibility that Ningi could be subject to consequences for bringing the matter to light and mentioned another senator from Ogun State who defended the unethical practice of padding the budget.

In an interview with The Sun, Rufai said, "When Senator Abdul Ningi burst the bubble on the budget padding, I was just laughing because I knew that they would sweep it under the cupboard, and he was going to pay dearly for his action.

As we speak, are you hearing anything about the padding issue again? Ningi was not the first Senator to have opened that can of worms. But you saw what that Senator from Ogun State, former Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation came out to say in defense of the padding."
