Major construction work on the Onose Modular Refinery would commence in November, 2024 - Jim Elueni

According to Vanguard, The Managing Director and CEO of Onose Deep Oil and Gas Limited, Chief Jim Elueni, has announced that construction of the Onose Modular Refinery in Delta State will begin in November 2024. The refinery, located in Omavovwe, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area, will have the capacity to refine 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

According to Elueni, the refinery's operations will address some of the challenges associated with petroleum production in Nigeria. He also disclosed that the refinery has partnered with NNPC, Green Fields, and NCDMB, and will employ young graduates and create employment opportunities for people in Delta State and Nigeria.

The refinery will also provide electricity to the host community and its environs. The Delta State Government is expected to participate in equity shares in the refinery. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Mr. Frank Omoko, visited the site to verify the project's details and report to the State Governor.

The President General of Omavovwe Community, Mr. Awarivwogho Roland Obakpororo, thanked Onose Deep Oil & Gas Limited for the investment and urged the state government to expedite the refinery's actualization, which will reduce unemployment in the area.
