IG Koome Under Siege As Speaker Wetangula Forced To Intervene On The Release of Gabriel

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has given the police Inspector General Japhet Koome a two hours ultimatum to establish the whereabouts of Gabriel Oguda and release him.

Wetangula urged the Majority leader of the National Assembly Kimani Ichungwa to help liase with the IG of Police Japhet Koome to release the media activist Gabriel Oguda who wsd reportedly taken away from his early in the morning from his home on Tuesday June 2024.

This comes after minority leader Opiyo Wandayi raised the matter in the floor of the house of the National Assembly regarding the arrest of Gabriel Oguda. Wandayi emotionally revealed to the house the issue of abduction of the activist Oguda Gabriel whose whereabouts is currently not known.

Oguda Gabriel is among the few media activist who has been arrested following the commencement of the nationwide anti-Finance Bill protests which are going on countrywide.This comes as the Protests have rocked country wide as youths champion for the anti-Finance Bill drive.
