The Oyo State Police Command on Saturday, June 29, replied a man who said his "innocent" younger brother was arrested and detained by men of the monitoring unit of the command without giving explanation about the crime committed by him.

The state police command disclosed on its X handle that investigation revealed that the younger brother was invited and subsequently detained regarding a case of diversion of petroleum product of over N15 million, adding that his legal team was being expected at the station on Saturday concerning the matter.

The man, whose X handle is @papawhyty, disclosed in a series of posts that his brother was arrested and detained at the Eleyele Police Station by the Monitoring Unit of the command and he had spent some nights in custody without being told the offence he committed.

He added: "So, I went to the Monitoring Unit of Eleyele Police Station to inquire about my younger brother's case. I didn't meet the IPO because we went late. But it seem like the case is being delayed on purpose because apparently, there's no crime committed by my brother."

He therefore said he needed to know why the operatives of the command decided to detain his younger brother who he described as "an innocent person" and who was made to spend some nights in detention.
