"We Are Here To Deal With Them" Lady Armed With A Rungu During Nairobi's Protests Finally Speaks

opera.com 6 days ago

A young lady who was captured holding a rungu during Nairobi's anti-government protests on Tuesday has finally spoken, giving reasons as to why she was armed.

In a video shared by popular blogger Pauline Njoroge on Facebook, the lady identified herself as Immaculate.

She stated that she came from her house to join her fellow youths in protesting peacefully against the government.

She then claims that the peaceful anti-government demonstrations were taken over by hired goons who took advantage of the situation to rob people and loot businesses in the CBD.

She further claims to have seen a video circulating online showing hired goons leaving city hall and the Nairobi County Governor's Office.

She goes ahead to say that she and other people armed with rungus were going to deal with the goons first before going on with their protests.

A section of Kenyans online have condemned the act of goons infiltrating peaceful protestors and taking advantage to commit crimes.

They asked the police to act swiftly and arrest goons disrupting peaceful demonstrations.
