According to report from ARISE TV. Tony Okonigene, a prominent figure in the political sphere and a member of the Edo state PDP, has expressed his lack of surprise at the recent court judgment regarding the Edo State primary and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, citing concerns about the impartiality of the judicial process. Okonigene revealed that his team had written to the National Judicial Council (NJC) expressing their reservations about Justice Ekwo's involvement in the case, given his history of rulings that consistently favored one faction despite higher court precedents to the contrary.

Okonigene's remarks highlighted the long-standing conflicts within the PDP party and the perceived bias in Justice Ekwo's court decisions. His comments have sparked debate about the fairness of the judicial system and the need for impartiality in legal proceedings. By speaking out, Okonigene aims to bring attention to the issues plaguing the PDP in Edo State and the judiciary, seeking a more just and equitable resolution to the ongoing conflict.

In his own words, "If I tell you that we are surprised about the outcome of that judgment, then I would be lying. If you have been following the trends, you will know why this particular judgment did not surprise us. The moment this case was taken to Justice Ekwo's Court, we wrote to the NJC stating our concerns about Justice Ekwo's involvement in this case."
