According to reports from Vanguard, wrestling icon John Cena announced his retirement from professional wrestling at Saturday's WWE Money in the Bank event, after an incredible 22-year career with the company

The 47-year-old 16-time world champion, known for his signature "you can't see me" catchphrase and crossover success in Hollywood, took center stage at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto to reflect on his legacy and bid an emotional farewell to the WWE Universe.

Cena revealed that his retirement will be a drawn-out affair, with the legendary grappler set to compete in a handful of high-profile events over the next year, including next year's Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and the 2025 edition of WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

"The 2025 Royal Rumble will be my last. The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last and I'm here tonight to announce that WrestleMania Las Vegas in 2025 will be the last WrestleMania I compete in,” he announced.

Cena, who has transitioned into a successful acting career in recent years with starring roles in films like Peacemaker and F9, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the WWE Universe for their unwavering support over the past two decades.

"Thank you so much always for your voice, because it's really loud and your honesty because it's beautifully brutal. and most of all thank you so much for allowing me to be here with you tonight to let the world know we are planning something unforgettable which also involves me returning to Toronto to kick some a**," he said.
