Precious Elekima, former governorship candidate of the SDP in Rivers State, has spoken on the events that led to Governor Siminalayi Fubara's ascension to power.
In a video recently shared on YouTube by Arise TV, Elekima said there was initial apprehension and fear among the women of Rivers State when Wike decided to support Fubara to become governor.
Elekima said despite his youth, Fubara has demonstrated extraordinary humility, a quality not commonly seen in leaders. He said one notable example of Fubara's humility since he became governor is his willingness to sign the 8-point peace accord despite having immunity as Governor. He emphasized the importance of supporting Fubara and recognizing his role as the leader of the state.
In Elekima's words: "Rivers State women were praying and lived with fear and all of a sudden Wike brought Fubara from where I don't know, but we knew that he was part of us but a younger person".
