In a social media post on Thursday, Wizkid honored her memory and expressed the profound sense of loss he continues to feel.
He expressed, "Happy birthday to the love of my life! I think of you constantly. Experiencing the first birthday without you feels surreal. Everything seems incomplete without you, Mama. Life lacks meaning in your absence.
It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Jane Dolapo Balogun, the mother of Wizkid. She passed away on August 18, 2023, and was laid to rest on October 13, 2023.
Wizkid shared a heartfelt message expressing his love and admiration for his late mother, referring to her as "Morayo mi." He commemorated her memory by expressing his deep affection and the impact she had on his life and music career, describing her as the inspiration behind his best album.
