In a Vanguard report, Fegalo Nsuke, the president of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), revealed that back in the early 1990s, Nigerian soldiers attacked 14 Ogoni villages, including Ledor, resulting in significant devastation. This aggression facilitated land grabbing by neighboring villages. Now, as the displaced people return and discover their land occupied, there's a risk of escalating tension and conflicts.

According to what Fegalo Nsuke said, "These unhealthy acts did not start today. Right in the early 90s, some 14 villages in Ogoni, including Ledor, were attacked by Nigerian soldiers and decimated. That aided the land grabbing from neighboring villages, and now that the people are resettling and finding their land taken by neighbors, there are chances that tension and conflicts will ensue. On the other hand, the NNPC has been too desperate to drill the wells in Ogoni despite decades of conflict. We are engaging the government on all these and hope that the issues are resolved soon. We hope that the government provides a smart response team to protect the people in that area and forestall further conflicts."
