In an interview with Channels Television, Enemi George, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, reiterated the need for Governor Siminalayi Fubara to present a budget to the Assembly. George emphasized that the Assembly has exercised its constitutional powers and rights in a harmonious manner, expecting the Governor to comply.

George expressed hope that the Governor, advised by his executives, will do the needful and present a functional budget to avoid a looming danger. He stressed that the constitution is clear on the consequences of disregarding the law in this manner.

The lawmaker's statement comes after the Assembly's ultimatum to the Governor to present a budget within seven days.

In his words

"We've told the Governor what to be done. We've expressed our Constitutional powerrs and rights in the way that we should and in a very harmonious manner. We're hoping and that I know that Governor had advisers, he has executives. I don't expect any right thinking person would do otherwise. The constitution is very clear, there are consequences when we break the law in such manner. This is for us trying to save our state from a looming danger. So we're hoping that the Governor do the needful, bring the budget and pass it as a functional budget"
