Ogun: 35 die in 49 road crashes in June – FRSC

The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has said that 35 persons died in 49 road crashes in Ogun between June 1 and June 27.

Mr Anthony Uga, FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, gave the figure in an interview with NAN on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.

Uga also said that 146 persons sustained various degrees of injuries in the road crashes.

‘I was robbed in Ibiza’ – Kiddwaya

Ex-BBNaija star Kiddwaya on Tuesday opened up about an incident of robbery that occurred in his villa in ‘Ibiza’, Spain, where he claimed he was robbed of 70,000 euros and a Birkin bag.

Kiddwaya, in a video post on Instagram, said, “What’s up, guys? So something crazy happened last night. For the second time, I was robbed in Ibiza at the villa I was staying in.”

The reality TV star further revealed that the robbery occurred around 3:00 am local time, with the perpetrators reportedly gaining access access to his room and conducting the theft.

Africa holds 125b oilbarrels, says NUPRC

The Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) said Africa holds substantial oil and gas reserves. The continent’s proven oil reserves are estimated to be 125 billion barrels, representing approximately seven to nine per cent of the world’s total oil reserves, while the proven natural gas reserves are estimated at around 620 trillion cubic feet (Tcf).

Chief Executive, NUPRC, Mr Gbenga Komolafe, spoke during the unveiling of the African Petroleum Regulators’ Forum (AFRIPERF) to drive continental aspirations in the development and utilisation of hydrocarbon resources.

The NUPRC unveiled the AFRIPERF at its maiden roundtable on the sidelines of the Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week 2024 holding from July 1 to July 3, 2024 in Abuja.

Fed Govt revokes N757b Obajana-Benin highway contracts

Contracts for the dualisation of the 489-kilometre Obajana-Benin Highway have been terminated by the Federal Government.

The action, according to Works Minister Dave Umahi, is due to ‘’significant delays in the execution of the three sections of the road and the contractors’ refusal to fulfill their obligations as spelt out in Standard Conditions of Contract.

The affected contractors are Mothercat Ltd, Dantata & Sawoe Construction Ltd, and Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) Ltd. section II (Okene-Auchi) in Kogi/Edo State, section III (Auchi-Ehor) in Edo State. They were awarded the contracts to handle sections II (Okene-Auchi) in Kogi/Edo State; III (Auchi-Ehor) in Edo State; and IV (Ehor-Benin) in Edo State.
