According to VANGUARD report, at a recent gathering in Abakaliki, party leaders emphasized Obi's leadership qualities and economic expertise, positioning him as the ideal candidate to lead the nation out of its current economic downturn.

Rt. Hon. Linus Okorie, Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, and Rt. Hon. Bar. Emmanuel Nwobo, representing different senatorial zones, issued a joint statement affirming their confidence in Obi's ability to enact meaningful change.

They highlighted his track record and strategic insights, suggesting that under Obi's leadership, Nigeria could experience a resurgence in economic stability and growth.

"The Labour Party believes that Mr. Peter Obi possesses the necessary competencies to salvage Nigeria's economy from its current challenges," the statement read. They resolved to support Engr. (Chief) Fidelis Nwankwo as the leader of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State, aiming to consolidate their influence ahead of the next electoral cycle.
