Sunday Oliseh, a former coach of the Super Eagles, has responded to Mikel Obi's recent criticism of his coaching ability, stating that the former Chelsea star "needs help", according to Soccernet.

In a recent podcast, Mikel Obi had questioned Oliseh's coaching credentials, prompting a sharp response from the former Super Eagles boss.

"I think the kid (Mikel) needs help to be honest," Oliseh said in an interview with Elegbete TV. "There's something I've not really shown much, I won the best coach for the first period of the Jupiler league, which is in the Dutch league. That was not voted by the press, that was voted by the players and the coaches of the league."

Oliseh also highlighted his achievements as a coach, including promoting Fortuna Duesseldorf from the second division to the first division in Germany.

The former Super Eagles coach also took aim at Mikel's comments about his family, stating that it was "embarrassing" and "humiliating" for Mikel to publicly insult his family.

Oliseh offered to advise Mikel, who he believes is struggling to cope with life after retirement. "I have no grudge against Mikel, I just feel that he needs help. If he wants, he can call me, I will give him advice."

The exchange between Oliseh and Mikel has sparked a heated debate among Nigerian football fans, with some supporting Oliseh's stance and others backing Mikel's criticism.

Regardless, it is clear that the relationship between the two Super Eagles legends has soured, and it may take some time for the wounds to heal.
