At the Midweek Communion Service, Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, delivered a sermon titled "Understanding the Power of Obedience of Faith 6," Warns members to avoid claiming they are suffering for Christ when things are not working for them.

In his sermon, Bishop Oyedepo stressed the importance of true stewardship and faith, stating, "Don’t tell me when things are not working ‘I am suffering for Christ’. Those who truly suffer for Him in serving His purpose, they must end up reigning with Him."

He highlighted two common misconceptions among believers regarding stewardship. First, he noted that some do not believe in the commandment of stewardship at all, resulting in a lack of involvement and thereby missing out on its blessings.

"Because the Word applied to whosoever believes, they don’t get involved, they can’t experience what it carries," he explained.

Secondly, he pointed out that others believe in the commandment of stewardship but doubt its rewards. Drawing from the parable of the prodigal son's brother in Luke 15:28-31, Bishop Oyedepo illustrated how the elder brother served his father without understanding the inheritance he was entitled to. "He doesn’t believe there are things that belong to him by serving the father, so he remained a sufferhead," he said.

Emphasizing that God does not call people to suffer needlessly, Bishop Oyedepo quoted 2 Timothy 2:12, saying, "If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him." He clarified that this suffering is not about enduring afflictions but about taking responsibility beyond one's power when God calls for it.
