During his appearance on TVC, Daniel Bwala, a lawyer and former spokesperson of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), expressed concern over the actions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in relation to the jurisdiction of the court. Bwala questioned the EFCC's pursuit of Yahaya Bello, noting that once a case is brought before the court, the individual in question is no longer within the sole purview of the EFCC. Instead, they become subject to the authority of the court, which determines the course of action regarding their case.

Bwala emphasized the significance of the court's jurisdiction in determining the fate of individuals like Yahaya Bello who are under investigation by the EFCC. He stressed that it is the court, not the EFCC, that has the authority to decide on matters such as arrest and prosecution. The former PDP spokesperson cautioned against the EFCC's unilateral actions, warning that attempts to circumvent the authority of the court could lead to further legal complications and undermine the credibility of the justice system.

He criticized the rhetoric advocating for the immediate arrest and prosecution of individuals like Yahaya Bello, arguing that such calls could exacerbate existing legal challenges and complicate efforts to address corruption effectively. He urged for a more measured and legally sound approach to handling cases involving allegations of misconduct, emphasizing the need for thorough investigation and adherence to due process before taking any punitive action.

In his critique of the EFCC's actions, Bwala highlighted the potential consequences of disregarding the authority of the court and undermining the legal process. He cautioned against arbitrary actions that could erode public trust in law enforcement institutions and weaken the foundations of democratic governance.

He said: "How can EFCC after they submit to the jurisdiction of the court will now be looking for Yahaya Bello?. Yahaya Bello is no longer the property of the EFCC now, he's the property of the court. It is the court that with the timing what happens to him. You see when they keep saying we must arrest him, we must do this, it will be creating them more problem and the more troubling one."
