Oseni Rufai Confirms The Abduction Of the Two Journalists and Their Families in Kaduna By Gunmen

According to a post by Oseni Rufai on his verified Twitter profile, two journalists from Kaduna, Abdulraheem Aodu of Blueprint and Abdulgafar Alabelewe of The Nation, were kidnapped by masked thugs.

The two journalists' residences were among the targets of the Saturday night attack, according to Channels Television.

A relative told Channels Television that at about 10:30 p.m., gunmen stormed the Danhonu neighbourhood, aiming their assault squarely at the houses of two journalists who happen to live in close proximity to one another. Along with their wives and children, they were seized.

This was posted by Oseni Rufai on his verified Twitter account.

In his words, "Gunmen have abducted Abdulgafar Alabelewe and Abdulraheem Aodu, journalists with The Nation and Blueprint newspapers respectively, in Kaduna.

The abduction occurred on Saturday at Danhonu community, in the Millennium City area of Kaduna, around 10pm.

Alabelewe, chair of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ), was abducted alongside his wife and two children.

Aodu was also taken with his wife. Both journalists are neighbours."
