Female Suicide Bombers Hit Borno

Four suspected female suicide bombers believed to be members of Boko Haram killed an unspecified number of people including a soldier when they detonated their explosives at different locations in Borno State.

A source familiar with the insurgents’ operations in the northeastern state told PREMIUM TIMES that the first bombing was recorded at a wedding ceremony in Mararaban Gwoza.

“The second one took place at a security checkpoint, killing a soldier and two civilians,” the source told our reporter.

Fire Guts Ogun Trailer Park

A late-night Saturday fire that rocked the Obasanjo Trailer Park in Ogere along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway axis of Ogun State destroyed one tanker and several makeshift shops.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the fire on Sunday, gathered that the fire started at about 11pm on Saturday.

The fire was said to have emanated from one of the shops before gutting the truck that was under repair at the park.

LG Electronics, producers of residential, and industrial appliances, has announced the launch of a business to business (B2B) academy to empower Nigerians and other industry stakeholders.

The firm said the facility will serve as a hub for industry trade professionals to learn about the latest technologies available, sharpen their installation and maintenance skills, and ultimately deliver better product recommendations and services to their customers.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Shawn Chang, the firm’s director of Africa air solutions business, said the academy was developed to also support all “our customers, partners and our stakeholders”.


Borno Attack: Don't Allow North East Slide Back Into Theater Of Terrorism, Atiku Tells FG

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the bomb attack in Borno State, asking the Federal Government not to allow the North East slide back into theater of terrorism.

Atiku in a post on his Verified Facebook page asked the present administration to live up to expectation, accusing government of lacklustre posture in holding firmly to the frontline in the gains made by security operatives.

Atiku said it is a sad development that the “ugly incidents of terrorism are resurfacing and, indeed, metastasising in the North-East.”
