The PDP Edo State Governorship Campaign Council called the Federal High Court ruling that voided its primary election a temporary setback. The court annulled the primary due to the exclusion of 378 delegates. PDP officials clarified that the court did not disqualify their candidate, Asue Ighodalo. Campaign Council Chairman Ahmadu Fintiri expressed confidence in overturning the decision on appeal and committed to intensifying their efforts. Despite challenges, Ighodalo and the PDP vowed to remain focused and dedicated.

Police Arrest Three Armed Robbers in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested three armed robbers who had been terrorizing Ikot Abasi village. The suspects, identified as John Okon Anta, Michael Osudua, and Inyene Joseph Edet, were apprehended on July 1 after robbing a resident. They confessed to the crime, and a locally-made pistol was recovered. Police are continuing efforts to capture other gang members.
