David De Gea certainly knows how to celebrate a birthday! The former Manchester United goalkeeper sent a hilarious birthday message to his ex-teammate Juan Mata, comparing him to none other than Malcolm.
On Mata’s 35th birthday, De Gea took to social media to wish him well. In a series of Instagram stories, he shared memories and playful comparisons. The first story featured a photograph of the duo from their Spain national team training days, with De Gea writing, “Happy birthday Amigo. Best of the best.”
The second story was a major throwback, showcasing Mata during his Real Oviedo days.
And then De Gea shared an image of Malcolm, the quirky character from the popular TV show “Malcolm in the Middle,” portrayed by actor Frankie Muniz.
As for De Gea himself, he remains a free agent after leaving Old Trafford at the end of the 2022-23 season.
