Olojo Festival: What I’ll Be Doing During My Seclusion- Ooni of Ile-Ife

As the Olojo Festival draws near, the ancient city of Ile-Ife is getting ready to receive the blessings of the Ooni, who is the Paramount Ruler. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has said that while in seclusion for the upcoming Olojo Festival, he would be praying seriously for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration. The first-class Oba said during the period of his seclusion, he would pray for a change in the current hardship Nigerians are going through, caused by the removal of fuel subsidy. He said this while addressing journalists in his palace, in preparation for the seclusion towards Olojo Festival. Punch Newspaper reports.


According to him, “I will use the medium to pray for African Unity and movement, for actualisation of Pan Africanism. We therefore as stakeholders must play our roles to ensure that Africa as a continent speaks in unity,” Punch Online quotes the Oba.

“I will pray for the unity of Africa. Things are very hard. We all know the economic challenges that people are facing. This is the time we need spiritual and divine intervention. My annual Olojo seclusion. This is how my ancestors have been doing it."

”We should pray very well because things are very hard. We all know the state of the economy. It is a sensitive thing that needs prayer, which should not go out of hand. My prayer also would be to pray for divine intervention for the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to turn things right because expectation of people are so high”, the Ooni is quoted by Punch Newspaper.
