According to a report by Daily Post, Family and friends wept profusely as they gathered to pay their final respects to Solomon Adigun, a 31-year-old bachelor who was reportedly killed by herdsmen in Ogbomoso. Adigun’s tragic death has sparked outrage and calls for action against escalating violence in the region.

Our correspondent gathered that Adigun was allegedly killed on his farm in Elemuye, Surulere Local Government Area. Sources revealed that Adigun had previously complained about the destruction of his father’s farm by herdsmen, during which a cow reportedly died. He was subsequently stabbed to death on his farm.

The remains of Adigun were laid to rest on Wednesday at the Ogbomoso Baptist Conference Cemetery at Aroje, along the old Ilorin road. The burial was attended by grieving family members, friends, and sympathizers, who were visibly distraught as they committed his remains to the earth.

One of the mourners, who asked to remain anonymous, described Adigun as an easy-going and hardworking person dedicated to the service of God. “His death is devastating not only because we were close but also because he was a hardworking, nice person dedicated to the service of God. I am still in grief,” he said.

The mourner called on government authorities and security operatives to intervene urgently to prevent further loss of life. “It is getting out of hand. This year alone, I have heard about three deaths caused by these herdsmen in Ogbomoso. The government should protect us,” he pleaded.

Highlighting the increasing threat posed by herdsmen, the mourner added, “It is critical; the herdsmen now snatch okadas (motorcycles), destroy people’s farms with impunity, and attack people in their homes. Fulanis are killing a lot of people. Nigerians must rise before people resort to self-help.”
