Vice President Kashim Shettima denounced the mocking of President Bola Tinubu following his stumble at the June 12 democracy day celebration.

Speaking at a PEBEC Town Hall Meeting in Abuja, Shettima expressed dismay over Nigerians who ridiculed Tinubu's misstep as he attempted to board a military parade vehicle at Eagles Square.

Shettima, deviating from his prepared speech, condemned the portrayal of the incident in the media and among the public.

According to Vanguard, he described the reactions as disheartening and emphasized that true leadership is defined not by physical mishaps but by the ability to generate effective solutions to national challenges.

Highlighting Tinubu's leadership qualities, Shettima praised the President's dedication to the nation and asserted his confidence in Tinubu's capability to drive transformative change in Nigeria.

He drew comparisons to historical leaders, citing the resilience of former US President FDR and Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, who faced physical challenges yet excelled in their governance.

The Vice President urged Nigerians to focus on Tinubu's vision and policy initiatives rather than trivializing incidents that distract from substantive issues.
