According to report from The Sun. Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed confidence in the party's victory in the upcoming Edo State governorship election. He attributed the party's advantage to the internal crises within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Oshiomhole denied allegations that the APC was responsible for the crisis that led to the invalidation of the PDP governorship primary, "The crisis was an internal affair of the PDP, which had nothing to do with the APC." He emphasized that the APC is gaining momentum, with many decamping to the party Daily.

The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Abubakar Momoh, also shared Oshiomhole's confidence, asserting that the APC's candidate, Okpebholo, has secured significant support in Edo North and Central Senatorial Districts. Momoh highlighted the local appeal of Okpebholo, noting that he is loved by the people and speaks to them in their dialect, giving him an advantage over other candidates.
