I wanted to build an ICT university, but Buhari refused, calling it an overambitious project—Adebayo Shittu

Adebayo Shittu, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has made some revelations regarding governance in Nigeria.

According to reports, the current hardship and time in commodities were to have been emulated during the tenure of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari.

However, Shittu, who served as the minister of information in the immediate past administration, debunked the claim, stating that the former president, Buhari, was not aware of some fraudulent approvals, which led to the failure of the whole regime.

Furthermore, he disclosed that he wanted to build an information and communication technology (ICT university, which was opposed by some colleagues, and at the end of the day, the former president, Buhari, labeled the proposal as an overambitious project.

In a video posted by Sahara TV, Adebayo Shittu said, "I wanted to build an ICT university for Nigeria, and it got to the Federal Executive Council only for a number of my colleagues to oppose it, and at the end of the day, the president said, 'I want to commend you for your hard work on this memo, but this is an overambitious project".
