Chief Edwin Clark, an elder statesman and National Leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, has spoken out about the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike.

In a recent report by Punch, Clark stated that Wike allegedly instructed Fubara not to attend PDP Governors' forum meetings, despite Fubara being a leader within the forum. He also mentioned an event where Wike visited the Okrika area, which is the home region of George Sekibo, a notable political figure. He said during this visit, Wike assured Sekibo that no one could remove him from his position. He criticized Wike for trying to maintain control over the political structures in Rivers State, reminding everyone that these structures have existed and been managed by various governors over time

In Clark's words: "Can you imagine that Fubara has been a leader in the governors’ forum, but Wike told him not to go? He has not been attending. So, Wike recently went to the Okrika area where George Sekibo comes from and said to the young man that nobody can remove you from the house"
