I've Never Stopped Davido or His Family from Coming to Visit His Daughter- Sophia Momodu Tells Court

According to a report published by Daily Post, Sophia Momodu, the mother of Nigerian musician Davido’s daughter, has told a Lagos State High Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, not to grant the musician custody of their daughter.

Momodu argued that Davido is unfit to be granted custody due to his unavailability and lack of ability to care for their child properly.

In a counter-affidavit filed in opposition to Davido's suit seeking custody, Momodu claimed that Davido never showed true commitment or love towards their daughter while their relationship lasted.

She alleged that Davido only visited their daughter when he wanted to use her for media stunts or promotions, and he conditioned his visits on s3xual favors.

“He always used the condition of making myself available for his s3xual pleasures as a precondition to visit our daughter or show some fatherly love to her. The applicant, apart from his cravings for s3x, only comes around to spend time with our daughter when he wants to use our daughter for his media stunts or promotions,” Momodu stated.

Momodu further claimed that Davido stopped communicating with their daughter and making payments for her school fees whenever she refused his s3xual advances.

She stated that she had to stop Davido from making late-night visits to her house, as his intentions were not to visit their daughter but to seek s3xual favors.

“It was when I refused the applicant’s ingress into my house at ungodly hours of the night on the pretext of visiting our daughter that he decided to stop visiting or calling our daughter and this has been the pattern with the applicant all through his relationship with our daughter. Whenever I refused to be his s3x slave, he would stop caring for his daughter and abandon her,” Momodu alleged.

Momodu also stated that contrary to Davido’s claim, he has not been faithful in paying their daughter’s school fees, having defaulted in 2021 and 2022.

She claimed that the school wrote to her in January 2023 over unpaid tuition, and it was Davido’s father who eventually intervened and paid the fees.

“I have never stopped the applicant or his family members from coming to visit his daughter, calling or reconnecting with our daughter,” she asserted.
