As reported by Sahara reporters, a group of armed gunmen, believed to be part of a militia, attacked the Eha-Amufu community in Enugu State, Nigeria. The incident resulted in the death of a middle-aged man and the kidnapping of four individuals, including a 12-year-old girl.

"It was a terrifying ordeal," said Chika Omorie, a resident of Eha-Amufu. "The gunmen came in and took over an abandoned military checkpoint, and for three days, they terrorized our community." The attack occurred between June 17 and June 20, during the Eid al-Adha holiday celebrations. Eyewitnesses estimate that the group of assailants numbered around 10 individuals, and they are suspected to have originated from the neighboring Benue State.

"Miracle was just trying to get back to Eha-Amufu when the gunmen intercepted him," Omorie recounted. "They shot him, and he didn't make it." The kidnappers also abducted a 12-year-old girl named Chidiogo Ekpe, an older woman, and two other residents. "The community is in a state of fear and despair," said Omorie. "We urgently need enhanced security measures to protect our lives and property."
