The Senate President of Nigeria and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has been honoured with the Parliamentary Excellence Award in Abuja on Saturday.

Godswill Obot Akpabio stated on his verified Facebook page on Saturday; "Today, I was honoured with an award, IN PARLIAMENTARY EXCELLENCE by the National Excellence Awards In Public Service (NEAPS). The event took place at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. I was accompanied to the award presentation ceremony, by some Principal Officers and members of the National Assembly."

He added; "I dedicate this award to my colleagues in the National Assembly, specifically, my Distinguished colleagues in the Senate, who provided a peaceful and united working ambience for me to excel in office, in the last one year."
Other who clinched the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service are General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Peace Building award); Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (Parliamentary Excellence award); Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (Leadership and Administration award), and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), Senator Ibrahim Hadejia (Administrator par Excellence award).
