The National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, has stated that he has not seen a single Nigerian who has received the N4.3 trillion which the federal government provided to serve as palliative due to the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy.
Obiora Ifoh made this statement in a news report by the Punch. In the news article, Obiora Ifoh said, "can you confirm that anyone from your family received out of the N4.3trn palliatives? We do not even know whether all these figures are always meant to end on the pages of newspapers."
"I have yet to see anybody in Nigeria who benefited from that money. Even in my village, I can tell you nobody has seen a dime. So where did they spend the money? That is the issue. I read some days ago about the report of their NEC economic meeting that they are going to give states millions of naira to cushion the effect of the hardship. Was that not the same thing they told us about a year ago? Yet, we have not seen anything."
