There are some ethnic and unnecessary bias that is keeping Nnamdi Kanu in jail—Kenneth Okonkwo

opera.com 3 days ago

Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nigerian lawyer, has called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), from detention.

Recall that the political activist, Nnamdi Kanu, was arrested by personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) and, up until now, has remained in their custody.

However, during an interview with Arise News, Kenneth Okonkwo stated that the actions of the IPOB leader are not unique to those of other agitators who hail from other regions.

He made reference to the case of Sunday Igboho, who was released despite his incessant call for Yoruba Nation independence.

He therefore emphasised that there is some ethnic bias upholding the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody.

According to the video, "Why is Nnamdi Kanu's case different? There is an ethnic and unnecessary bias that is keeping that man in jail.".
