After a promising close to last season, Arsenal is looking to bolster its squad this summer in pursuit of their first Premier League title in over two decades. As the team prepares for their upcoming pre-season tour in the United States at the end of July, transfer activities are slowly picking up pace compared to last year’s brisk early actions.

At this point last season, Arsenal had already secured Kai Havertz in a high-profile transfer from Chelsea and dealt with the departures of Pablo Mari to Monza and Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen. This year, the pace seems more measured, potentially due to the ongoing summer international tournaments like the European Championships and Copa America, which involve many Arsenal players and potential new signings.

Although formal agreements have yet to be announced, the transfer rumor mill is buzzing with potential significant changes at Emirates Stadium. Notably, Arsenal has shown interest in Riccardo Calafiori, a standout performer at Euro 2024. Despite competition from Juventus, Arsenal remains in the hunt, with the player’s transfer fee expected to exceed £40 million.

Bologna’s technical director, Giovanni Sartori, shared insights with Sky Sports Italia, stating, “There is talk of Juventus but also of many other teams. At this moment, we are attempting to retain him, but we are open to considering significant offers. Though it’s unlikely he’ll move this window, our preference is to keep the squad intact as per our president’s wishes.”

In another development, critiques have surfaced over Arsenal’s transfer targets, pointing out potential oversight in their strategy. Despite the buzz around potential signings like Benjamin Sesko, some suggest Arsenal might be missing more suitable candidates for their specific needs.

As the pre-season approaches and the transfer window progresses, Arsenal fans and management alike are hopeful that the right mix of signings will lead the club to a long-awaited Premier League triumph.
