Man disappears after answering phone call in Abia

A young man aged 34 years, Mr Onyekachi Kingsley Ugochukwu, has been declared missing by his family in Isiala Akpaa Amaiyi village, Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State.

Ugochukwu, who is said to be fair in complexion, was said to have disappeared without trace after allegedly answering phone calls from an undisclosed person.

According to Onyekachi Alfred Ahuama, the father of the missing person, Ugochukwu was last seen on June 24 at about 5:PM when he picked a phone call from someone and has not been seen again.

The father, who expressed fear over the whereabouts of his son, appealed to anybody with information about Ugochukwu to contact the family.

Pandemonium struck in Ughelli, Delta State, on Friday, when suspected armed robbers attacked a bank customer at the premises of a new-generation bank in the metropolis.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the gunmen numbering about five in a Toyota Venza, had trailed the unidentified customer to the bank premises, before shooting sporadically while attacking their target.

Witnesses said that the customer, had yet to enter the banking hall, when the gunmen struck and eventually made away with three ‘Ghana Must Go’ bags containing money.

Ogun govt blames fire outbreak at Ogere trailer park to negligence

The Ogun State Government, has blamed the fire outbreak that occurred at the Ogere Trailer Park in Ikenne Local Government Area of the state, on negligence and lack of supervision by those, who were entrusted to oversee the activities of users of the park.

DAILY POST had reported that the park, was engulfed by fire on Saturday night, at about 11 pm.

The fire reportedly, started from one of the shops before gutting a truck that was under repair at the park.

According to an eyewitness, the fire was put out by occupants of the park as firefighters were not available.

Police nab fleeing Osun driver with N4.5m electronics

A commercial driver plying the Edo/Osun State route, Olalekan Amos, has been arrested by the police for fleeing with electronic gadgets worth N4.5 million, he was meant to deliver in Osogbo, Osun State.

Amos, who was among suspects arrested across the state for offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping and membership of unlawful groups, was paraded at the headquarters of the state Police Command in Osogbo on Friday.

In a statement by the spokesman for the command, Yemisi Opalola, said the suspect, after collecting the electronics from Edo State, sometime in March this year, refused to deliver the gadgets as agreed at the designated place in Osogbo and fled with the amplifiers.

Opalola said, “Sometimes in March 2024, the complainant, who lives in Edo State reported that he employed the service of the suspect, who is a commercial driver plying Benin (Edo State) to Osogbo to deliver three amplifiers worth #1.5million each to one of his customers in Osogbo, but to his dismay, the message was not delivered as agreed.
