Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani took to his verified Twitter account to express astonishment and skepticism regarding the recent attack allegedly carried out by repentant Boko Haram members. Sani questioned the authenticity of their repentance, given their involvement in such violent activities.

In his words, he said; "So, repentant Boko members attacked Police Station?; what kind of repentance is this?"

Sani pondered the paradoxical nature of the attack, highlighting the irony of individuals claiming to have repented from extremist ideologies engaging in acts of violence against law enforcement agencies.

According to Sahara Reporters, a group of individuals suspected to be former Boko Haram militants attacked the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) checkpoints at Kasuwan Fara, a suburb of Maiduguri.

They were reportedly dressed in military uniforms and forced the personnel to flee, subsequently setting the structures on fire. The attack followed an earlier confrontation between the suspects and police at the Kasuwan Fara Divisional Police Office, where the suspects had attempted to free eight of their colleagues arrested on April 24 for drug trafficking-related criminal activities.
