"Prophecies And Tongues Will Fail In Heaven" - Pastor David Ibiyeomie Says As He Teaches On Love

In a recent sermon, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries International, expounded on the theme that prophecies and tongues will fail in heaven, emphasizing the paramount importance of love.

Drawing from 1 Corinthians 13:13, he highlighted that while faith, hope, and love are essential virtues, love is the greatest among them.

Pastor Ibiyeomie explained that love is the fundamental virtue that connects believers to God, and it is through love that one's worth is defined. "God is love," he asserted, referencing 1 John 4:8, and stated that without understanding and demonstrating love, one cannot truly know God or walk with Him.

He further elaborated that while gifts like prophecy and tongues are significant, they are temporal and will cease in heaven. "Prophecies will fail, tongues will cease, and knowledge will vanish away, but love is eternal," he said, explaining that since God is eternal, and God is love, love will continue forever.

He added, "Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will fail; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will vanish away. So God's love is greater than prophecies, greater than tongues, and greater than knowledge because one day all will pass away, but not God's love."

"Prophecies and Tongues will fail in Heaven. Do you know why? The reason prophecies will fail in heaven is that there will be no prophecy. Tongues will fail in heaven because there will be no tongues. But because God is love, love in heaven will still continue because He is eternal."

Ibiyeomie stressed the practical aspects of love, urging believers to demonstrate love in their daily lives. He cited John 13:35, which states that all men will know disciples of Christ by their love for one another. He contrasted human love, which can turn to hatred, with God's love, which is enduring and unfailing.

In conclusion, Pastor Ibiyeomie urged his congregation to embrace and live out the virtues of love, as it is the greatest commandment and the essence of God's nature, ensuring eternal companionship with Him.
