The Honourable Jubreel Abdulkareem, a major figure within the All Progressive Congress (APC), has provided a perspective that is both perceptive and insightful regarding the cessation of oil subsidies in Nigeria.

His analysis highlighted the significance of this decision, shedding light on both its significance and the inevitable obstacles that come along with it. He emphasised the relevance of this decision.

The audacity that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu displayed in immediately implementing this policy upon taking office was praised by him. He acknowledged the challenge that is inherent in such a move and praised the president for his boldness.

Abdulkareem further mentioned the widespread support for this action, citing endorsements from prominent political personalities such as Abubakar Atiku and Peter Obi, who are leaders of the opposition.

In an interview with The Sun, He said, "I can tell you that the removal of fuel subsidy was a tough decision for anyone to spearhead. For President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remove it immediately after being sworn in, was an audacious decision ever taken by any Nigerian leader and it’s to the glory of God. Even the opposition parties campaigned it: Abubakar Atiku, Peter Obi, all campaigned it. So, there was none of the major opposition parties’ presidential candidates who did not campaign for the removal of the oil subsidy."
