A Legal Practitioner and a legal Representative of the 381 delegates in Edo State, Barrister Andrew Enwanta has alleged that the court declared the document used to elect Asue Ighodalo illegal, describing it as hastily fabricated and riddled with illegitimacy.

He asserted that, according to the current legal standing, the PDP in Edo State lacks a legitimate candidate. He further challenged the Asue Ighodalo's claim that the Court issues was an internal affair, questioning the fairness of excluding 381 individuals across 127 wards from the electoral process. He argued that failing to respect party rules and procedures extends beyond internal matters, impacting the broader democratic process and the rights of party members to participate in elections.

He said in an interview with AIT, ''I was happy that they said they will want to appeal now, they have been making so much noise initially. But the Chairman of their campaign council who is the governor of Adamawa said they want to appeal and we will meet them upstairs. I don't want to talk about what we will do because we have won at the lower Court clearly. All that we asked for, the Court granted both the declaratory and the injunctive reliefs.

The PDP in Edo State has no candidate in the eyes of the law as it stands today. The document in which they used in electing Asue Ighodalo was pronounced illegal by the Court. The Court said the document was hurriedly manufactured with trails of illegality and that was the document that made Asue Ighodalo PDP candidate. And when you put something upon nothing, it collapses like a pack of card.

They keep arguing that it is an internal affairs, what is internal in depriving 381 persons cutting across 127 wards of the state from contesting an election? What is internal when we don't respect our rules as political parties?''
